Prof. Alese And SUG President Of FUTA Arrested And Beaten

AKURE, Ondo — The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has long faced challenges from JAC - a joint association of 3 unions within the learning citadel- accusing the Vice Chancellor, Biyi Daramola of fraudulent activities of which the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) cleared him of any wrong doing. The whole issues plaguing the university has affected students as ultimately they are the victims in instances such like this.

The school management repeatedly set aside and inaugurated several committees to resolve all the issues surrounding its administration this all to no avail. This has been met by daily protests and have caused students their resumption earlier scheduled for November 13th, 2016.  The university vacated last semester late July, 2016.

The management mandated the Dean of student who is also the Head of Department, Computer Science Prof. Alese to design a new registration portal which was was live on the 21st of January 2016 for registrations to continue, but the JAC allegedly in its bid to thwart the whole process set up the Dean of student, SUG president and other SUG leaders and got them arrested today and beaten. The video above shows officers of the Nigeria police taking the

Dean of student, SUG president and other SUG leaders to the police station.
